A story of two inseparable friends, Michael and Jimmy, who grow up together in Dublin and end up enlisting in the British army to fight in the first world war. On their return, Michael is given an opportunity to turn pro as a boxer, while Jimmy seeks a new life in New York, where he gets mixed up with mafiosi. When Michael decides to join his old friend in New York, the scene is set for championship or bust!
