Lucretia Borgia is a collection of Renaissance songs and poems set to music, all relating to the court of Lucretia Borgia, daughter of the infamous Aragonese Pope, Alexander VI.

Lucretia’s life was a blend of history, myth and legend. She was married three times, had an illegitimate child and at least one of her husbands was murdered. Capella de Ministrers’ music allows us to experience first-hand the intrigue of the Italian Renaissance courts, her marriages to Giovanni Sforza, Alfonso d’Este and Alfonso of Aragón and her relationships with Pietro Bembo, Isabella and the court of Ferrara.

Translation into English of the sleeve notes and lyrics by Kathryn Phillips-Miles and Simon Deefholts.
